In episode 9 of “ARIA The ORIGINATION”, Alice Carroll, played by Ryo Hirohashi, sings a canzone at the end of her promotion exam to Undine, at the request of Athena Glory.

Alice overcomes her weaknesses and sings the canzone happily, and Ryo Hirohashi’s beautiful singing is a perfect match.

The first half of the lyrics are in Esperanto and the second half in Japanese, but the content is almost the same. The title is written in Esperanto as “Lumis eterne,” which means “to keep shining” (the corresponding Japanese phrase is “to shine forever”).

The word lumis is the past tense of the verb lumi, which means “to shine,” but there are only three verb tenses in Esperanto. However, since there are only three tenses for verbs in Esperanto, and they can be combined with participles to form compound tenses. (Example: Stelo estas luminta. The stars continue to shine.) However, in daily conversation and songs, we often avoid heavy-handed expressions. In that case, since each tense encompasses several fine-grained tense concepts. 『ARIA The ORIGINATION』第9話「そのオレンジの風につつまれて…」にて、広橋涼演じるアリス・キャロルがウンディーネの昇格試験の最後に、アテナ・グローリィに請われて歌うカンツォーネという設定で歌われる。

苦手意識を克服してカンツォーネを楽しそうに歌うアリスと、丁寧な広橋涼の歌唱がマッチしていて感動的である。

歌詞は前半がエスペラント、後半が日本語で内容はほぼ同じことを歌っている。タイトルはエスペラントで “Lumis eterne” と書いて「ずっと輝き続けている」といった意味になる（対応する日本語詞は「永遠(とわ)に輝く」）。
